Eligibility
Anyone who is a member of the Wisconsin Jewelers Association, Jewelers of America or Wisconsin Goldsmiths Association and who is interested in designing and creating a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry that says something about fashion and style.
Rules of Entry
- Only precious metals (Silver, Platinum, Gold & Titanium) may be used and all stones must be genuine.
- An individual may enter a maximum of two enties but must enter in two separate categories.
- All entries must be designed and produced within 12 months of the contest. Pieces MUST be original designs created and crafted by the person entering them and cannot have been mass- produced or previously sold.
- Pieces may have been entered in other competitions, but cannot have won any awards.
- A complete description of the entry piece and entry fee must accompany the contest entry.
- Best of Show piece must be available in January of 2009 to send to Jewelers of America's Spring Jewelry Competition.
Judging
Please indicate on your entry if you used a laser welder or CAD CAM.
The entries will be judged by qualified people in the fashion and jewelry industry.
Criteria for juding the design pieces will be based on: Quality & Craftsmanship;
Degree of Difficulty, Design & Origninality, Practicality & Wearability.

All entries will be judged against a perfect score of 80 points. Any entry to win a
category must receive a minimum score of 60 points.

Entry Fees
Each designer entering must submit a one-time $25 handling fee per store for pieces entered. This partially covers the costs of postage and insurance. All checks must be made payable to the Wisconsin Jewelers Association. If proper fees are not enclosed entry(s) will not be judged.
Entry Deadline
Entries ust be received at the following address no later than Friday, February 29, 2008. Late entries will be disqualified.
Awards
All participants will receive an Award of Merit certificate. First Place and Best of Show winners will receive the coveted Gemmy Award.
Return Policy
All entry pieces will be mailed back by Registered Mail within one week of ths show. If designers want to pick their piece(s) up at the show you may do so after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008 with a picture ID.
